Mike passed away during the early morning hours of Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the age of 64. Mike was born and raised in Bishop graduating from B.U.H.S. playing on the golf team which he excelled at and enjoyed. After graduating from B.U.H.S. Mike left the area to attend college. Missing the Eastern Sierra Mike returned to Bishop starting a wood cutting business with friends. He loved being outdoors though he decided to move to Reno trying his hand in the concrete business which lead Mike to starting up “Cowboy Concrete” in Reno NV. After mastering that trade he grew restless and took up an offer of a longtime friend to work for “Turner Propane” in Gardnerville where he excelled and advanced within the company to move back to Reno to run the “Turner Propane” office there.
Mike has two sons, Dylan and Dalton Ryan raised in Bishop. Mike taught them to hunt and fish and enjoyed being their coach in baseball and soccer, which he proudly told all who listened, they excelled at.
Before retiring, Mike worked at IMACA with Spike Jackson. Most days, Mike and Spike could be found at the back of the IMACA shop playing ping-pong or arguing about which of them was the ping-pong champion! Mike and Spike remained close friends over the years.
Mike is remembered for his great sense of humor, dry wit, willingness to help his family and friends, and the great love the he had for his sons.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Jackie Ryan.
He is survived by his two sons Dylan Ryan of Elko NV, and Dalton Ryan of Bishop CA., his brother Ronnie Ryan of Bishop; his sister and brother-in-law Susan and Dixon Morgan; Nieces, Alison, Amanda & Melisa, and Nephew Justin.
Services for Michael will be held at a later date.
