Debra Laurice Dondero (1953-2020)

On August 9, 2020, Debra Laurice Dondero, loving wife and mother of two children went to be with the Lord peacefully with her family at her side.

Debi was born on May 10, 1953 in Bishop, CA to her parents Lyman and Audrey Taylor. She attended all schools in Bishop and graduated from Bishop Union High School in 1971.

On November 24, 1973, Debi married her high school sweetheart, Darryl Jon Dondero. They raised two daughters, Dena and Hayley.

She loved taking pictures of the autumn foliage, evening strolls with her little doxie Izzy, and spending time planting flowers and tomatoes in her yard. She was her daughters’ biggest fan as she would cheer them on over the years as they competed in rodeo competitions. She loved to travel especially to Hawaii and attend as many MLB baseball games with her family.

She had a big heart for children and their education so she started working for the Big Pine Unified School district as a special needs teachers aid retiring in 2012. She also taught in the Big Pine Ed. “after school” program for many years. Children brought so much joy to her life.

Debi was known to be a “woman of faith”. Her goal in life was to share the Lord with her family, friends and as many people she would come in contact with to make sure everyone had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Debi is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years Darryl, her daughter, Dena, her daughter Hayley and husband Zechariah Campbell.
