Gene Rispaud “Cowboy” 1933-2021

Gene Rispaud “Cowboy”, 87, of Bishop, CA passed away peacefully at home next to his wife, Chris by his side on January 5, 2021. Gene was born on December 27, 1933 to Mr and Mrs. Maurice Rispaud in Alhambra, CA. After graduating high school. Gene attended Pasadena city college. Gene served in the US Army for 2 years and then joined the LA City Fire Department, where he retired as Fire Captain #2 after 31 years of service. Gene enjoyed surfing and skiing while living in Orange County. Upon retirement, 21 years ago, he and his wife moved to Bishop, where he enjoyed horseback riding, roping and being involved with ranch work. Gene is survived by his wife, Chris, of 31 years. Son Travis and wife Ileana, daughter Michelle, stepson Jim, stepson Jon and wife Lori, and stepdaughter Lynda, 4 grandchildren and 7 step grandchildren. No service planned at this time.

  1. Chris …Bill and I are very sad to hear this news.Gene was a good friend and a great guy..Remember all the good times we all had at the beach. We loved Gene and will miss him.
