Betty Louise Johnson April 12, 1928 – March 27, 2023

Betty Louise (Stallings) Johnson was born the only child to John and Selma Stallings on April 12, 1928 in Santa Paula, California

Betty graduated high school in Bell, California. She married her husband Harold Johnson, who was a Marine, July 7, 1947 in Inglewood, California. They made their home and raised their two children Sherry and Larry in South Gate California.  Betty enjoyed life and was a very caring Mother who always took pride in making sure the children had everything they needed for Scouts, sports or for just being a fashionable teen. She had many talents and sewed outfits, crocheted afghans, and needle work.

In 1983 Harold and Betty moved to Bishop, California. Betty had a great love for growing African violets and entered the Best of Show at several flower shows.  Being a fun loving and social person she was always wanting to take classes so she could meet new people and make new friends.  She became an accomplished China painting artist, painting and firing many prized pieces that will be cherished forever.  She has met many fine people through her classes and developed long lasting friendships. She even took classes on raising birds and has had a bird for several years.  She loved her pets and usually had a cat and a dog to keep her company.  Betty was a member of the Bishop Presbyterian church and was very happy to have the job of watering and nurturing the plants at the church. Betty loved her neighborhood and her neighbors and all of the good relationships she developed over the years by being a good neighbor.

Betty passed away quietly on March 27, 2023 at the beautiful age of 94. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband.

To cherish her memories Betty leaves behind her daughter Sherry and son-in-law Gary Anderson of Perris, California; her son Larry and daughter-in-law Melodee Johnson of Owasso, Oklahoma.  Two granddaughters Carrie (John) Llado and Jodi Johnson-Kile.  Eight great-grandchildren, Melanie, Madeline, Zachery, Hannah, Savannah, Bella, Ava and Ethan. And 4 great great-grandchildren.
