Harold Scott, resident of Bishop Ca. for over 50 years passed away peacefully on July 11th at the Bishop Care Center after one year of wonderful care. Harold was born in Stuart Virginia in 1929, the start of the great depression. His parents were Donald and Nellie Scott and he was raised on the family farm in Virginia with his siblings Donald, Reggie, Nellie, Warren, and Helen. Scotty, as his friends called him lived a wonderful childhood growing up in Stuart and enjoying the outdoors, farm animals, siblings and the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and life in general. As a young adult Harold received his father’s blessings and joined the United States Air Force and served from 1946 through 1949 and received a honorable discharge with rank of Corporal, completed his G.E.D. and met his future wife, Bonnie. They were married in Seattle, Washington by Bonnie’s father, a Morman preacher, and enjoyed a 50-year marriage. When discharged they moved to Harolds childhood home of Stuart Virginia and started their family. Harold was employed as a truck driver and a salesman which ended up being his passion. With three children and one in the oven the decision was made to move to California where opportunities were promised and Bonnie’s sister and family lived. It was here that Harold started his career as a sales and delivery man for Sparkletts Water and serviced the movie studios and became acquainted with many famous movie stars which he enjoyed. The hard work destroyed Harolds back leading to a early retirement in 1973 and the purchase of a motel in Bishop Ca which became their new home. The family lived for a number of years here at the Valley Motel until Harolds desire to grow led to the building of the High Sierra Lodge in Bishop where they lived and worked till retirement and sold in 1987 to reside in their new home in Bishop. Harold is survived by sons Randy Scott,(Becky), Greg Scott,(Melinda), Daughter Carolyn Lambert,(Dale), grandchildren Casey Scott, Katie Scott, Jenee Scott, Jacob Scott, Shane Scott, Justin Lambert, Jarrod Lambert and numerus great grandchildren. Preceded in death by wife Bonnie, son Michael, grandson Chad, granddaughters Brandy and Nichol. Private graveside services to be held at a later date at Pioneer cemetery in Bishop where Harold will be laid to rest beside wife Bonnie.
